John Simmons is a busy man. He is an active member of the Board of Directors of the Tyler Area Builders Association. “In addition to the community and business organizations that TOH participates in, I try to always give something back to the community,” he says. “I really enjoy being on the construction board at Habitat for Humanity.” Truly a renaissance man, John Simmons is also a gifted blues musician. He is a regular performer in the area with his band, Johnny and the Nightcrawlers, at both live music venues and charity events. The band has opened for numerous headline acts such as The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Jerry Jeff Walker, Bugs Henderson, Delbert McClinton and Marsha Ball. As Simmons is a life long motorcycle enthusiast, The Nightcrawlers are a crowd favorite at biker rallies, too. John is the father of five children ages 16 to 25 and lives near Lake Tyler.
